Don't forget to take your mobile with you.
As a Pay As You Go user, you're automatically set up to use your mobile in over 65 countries abroad, with new countries being added all the time, so check back regularly for updates.
To see which countries you can currently use your mobile in and how much it costs, pick a destination from the map or the drop-down box to get all the detail.
3 like home.
Better still, if you’re going to one of these countries - where we’ve got sister networks - you can use your 3 mobile to call or text home for the same price as in the UK.
Before you go.
...Make sure you top-up
Be on the safe side and top up by more than you need – you can always use the rest when you come back. You’ll also need to activate your top-up before you leave the UK.
...Or register a card
For an easier way to top up abroad, register your credit or debit card at My3. Do it at least seven days before you leave, as it takes this long for all the security checks to protect us and you from fraud. But once it's set up, you'll be able to top up and add on whenever you like - in just a few ticks.
...Set up your Voicemail and Videomail*
Check your mobile's user guide if you don’t know how to do this.
...Charge up your battery and take your charger with an adaptor
Sounds obvious, but you don't want to run out of juice while you’re away.
...Insure your mobile
If you’re not already covered, our policy is right up there with the best, protecting your mobile against loss, damage and breakdown. For all the details, check out Care3.
...And don't forget
You can't use your Add-ons abroad (except in 3 Like Home countries) so you’ll need to activate a Top-up before you leave the UK.

Whilst you're away.
Remember, you'll need to include international dialling codes to any numbers you use. Always put a '+' symbol in front of the number you're calling, followed by the country code. Also, take off the first digit from the area code (usually a '0'). For example, to call an 0207 London number dial +44207 followed by the rest of the number.
What it costs.
Call charges depend on where you're travelling. See our International pricing for full details on pricing and individual operators.
Remember that while you're abroad all calls are charged by the minute and you'll also get charged for receiving calls. All prices are inclusive of VAT where applicable. However, charges for using your mobile outside the EU are exempt from VAT.
When you visit an EU country we'll text you with information on call charges for that country, you'll know what the costs are straight away. (Don't worry you can elect not to recieve it if you like, just text 'stop' to shortcode 330). If you decide to receive it again, just text "start" to shortcode 330
You can also get free advice by:
