Unlocking your mobile

To get your mobile unlocked, you may have to ask your current network for a PUK code**. Once it's unlocked, and you’ve topped up, you'll be able to make calls and send texts. You may also be able to make the most of our Planet 3 services – from watching TV to surfing the internet – simply by upgrading some settings.

If not, take a look at the user guide that came with your mobile or visit the manufacturer's website for advice.

You may have received some messages from 3 advising you that your SIM will no longer work and you need to switch it to a 3g version. This won't work in your current 2g non 3 handset, so if you want to carry on using 3's great services you will need to purchase a new handset either at a local online.

If you want to keep your number then call 333 and they will do this for you, and if you still have any remaining credit on your account then this won't be lost.

If you are happy to get a new number, then just swap them over, but don't forget to use up any remaining credit on your old SIM.
