Things to consider when buying a tablet

Screen size

Whatever you use your tablet for, screen size matters. You can choose from our range of lightweight, easily portable 7-inch tablets, or 10-inch tablets if you’re watching your favourite movies and shows.

Storage

If you download a lot, and you’re into photo and video-taking, then you’ll probably need plenty of robust storage and memory. From 64GB to 128GB, iPad offers a big storage range. Or we’ve got Android tablets with storage ranging from 64GB to 128GB too.

Accessories

Depending on which phone you’ve got, you could link it to your tablet and share files, photos and more between your devices. You can also connect tablets to smart TVs and speakers, or check out which of our tablets come with Alexa built-in.

Frequently asked questions.

With so many tablets to choose from, it can be hard to pick. Do you want something lightweight like the Samsung Galaxy Tab A9+ or something super-powerful like Apple iPad 10.9-inch 10th Gen? It’s also worth thinking about which operating system you want to use – iOS or Android, and what your budget is.

Tablets are versatile devices that can be used for lots of different activities, from streaming your favourite shows and gaming to taking notes, typing up documents, and drawing.

Laptops are portable computers with a built-in keyboard with a trackpad. They can connect to Wi-Fi to get online and some models can also get online using a SIM. They have a removable battery and usually have more features than a tablet. They’ll commonly use Windows or MacOs as an operating system.

Tablets, like iPad and Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, are lighter and thinner than laptops. They run on mobile operating systems like iOS and Android. And to get online, you need to use Wi-Fi or a Data Only SIM. They have touch screens and don’t have a built-in keyboard. But you can buy compatible Bluetooth keyboards and keyboard cases for most tablets.

Yes. Lots of tablets like the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra and iPad Pro use a stylus, like the S Pen and Apple Pencil respectively. That makes them perfect for drawing, marking up documents, and taking notes. You can even get dedicated drawing apps like Procreate and Adobe Illustrator Draw.

With better performance, battery life, and even 5G connectivity, tablets are becoming more and more powerful. So much so that some people will now choose one over a laptop or computer. However, for more demanding processing tasks and for sustained periods of typing, laptops are more practical.

Yes, most tablets come with a SIM card slot. It is possible to get tablets that can only connect via Wi-Fi, but this will restrict where you can get online with your tablet.

Yes. If you’re connecting to the internet without using Wi-Fi, you’ll be using a Data SIM to access our mobile network, which will use your data allowance.
