On  9 September 2024, Apple launched the new iPhone 16 series. This included the iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 16 Plus and iPhone 16.

Both the iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro are all about Apple Intelligence[1] (coming December 2024). Apple Intelligence is the personal intelligence system that helps you write, express yourself, and get things done effortlessly.

And don’t worry – with groundbreaking privacy protections, you’ll have peace of mind that no one can access your data.

But beyond Apple Intelligence, you might be wondering about the differences between the iPhone 16 Pro Max and the iPhone 16 Pro. So let’s take a closer look at the makeup of the two devices.

iPhone 16 Pro Max and Pro design

Both phones boast a stunning titanium design, a Super Retina XDR[2] display and the latest-generation Ceramic Shield front that’s twice as tough than any smartphone glass. The iPhone 16 Pro Max has a 6.9-inch screen, with the Pro coming in at 6.3-inches.

iPhone 16 Pro Max and Pro camera

The iPhone 16 Pro Max and Pro also both come with Camera Control, a feature that gives you an easier way to quickly access camera tools.

This means it’s easier to do things like zoom in and out, or adjust depth of field. Basically, it helps you take the perfect pic in record time.

iPhone 16 Pro Max and Pro video

The combination of 4K 120 fps Dolby Vision, 48MP Fusion camera and studio-quality mics mean you can take your videos to a whole new level. Whether you opt for the iPhone 16 Pro Max or iPhone 16 Pro, you’ll get a Pro studio in your pocket.

iPhone 16 Pro Max and Pro battery

The iPhone 16 Pro Max is incredibly efficient power-wise with up to 33 hours of video playback[3]. The iPhone 16 Pro will deliver up to 27 hours, but both devices have faster charging capabilities.

iPhone 16 Pro Max and Pro performance

Ready for some serious power? The iPhone 16 Pro Max and iPhone 16 Pro carry the A18 Pro chip, which comes with a faster Neural Engine, improved CPU and GPU, as well as a big jump in memory bandwidth. It also drives advanced video and photo features, plus it powers AAA gaming.
