Using an iPhone 5? Make sure your software’s up to date
November 1, 2019
Are you still hanging on to your faithful ol’ iPhone 5? And are you guilty of putting off installing iOS updates?
Well, it’s time to change that. Here’s why.
What’s happening?
Apple’s announced that some iPhone and iPads introduced in 2012 and earlier need to be updated to the latest software version available by 3 November 2019.
If you don’t, you won’t be able to connect to the internet or use stuff like the App Store, email or iCloud.
Missed the deadline?
Over-the air updates and iCloud back ups won’t be available but, all’s not lost. You can still update your trusty iPhone 5 by connecting it to a Mac or PC.
Time for a change?
If all this talk of updates has you thinking about retiring your faithful iPhone 5 for something newer and shinier, it might be time for an upgrade. And, if you’ve looked after your trusty iPhone, why not trade it in?
