Calling Special Numbers
There are certain types of calls in the UK that are not covered by your monthly allownace of voice units.
Non-geographic/service numbers (starting 08, 118 or 09)
Calls to numbers starting 0800 and 0808 are free for anyone to call.
The charge for calls to service numbers starting 084, 087, 118 and 09 are split into two elements:
- An access charge, set by us at 65p per minute, with a 1 minute minimum charge
- A service charge, set by the company you're calling - they'll tell you this
Personal numbers (starting 070)
These are numbers used for personal or ‘follow me’ services. These calls are diverted to another number so that the person being called can keep their own number private.
Calls to these numbers are split into 3 price bands:
- Band 1: 30.6p/min
- Band 2: £1.04/min
- Band 3: £1.22 per call plus 85.5p/min. Both charges apply from the start of the call.
You can check here for details of specific numbers. You can also find out more about other types of calls which are not covered by your monthly allowance at: three.co.uk/priceguide.
